Easy Offroading Route In The Al Qudra Dubai Desert

Concluding Information

If you are a beginner, this off-roading route is for you. It begins and ends near a road for an easy start and end and consists of flat desert plains and low dunes. There are a few challenges for the adventurous drivers but these can be avoided by driving around them.

Disclaimer: We have driven this route and are sharing it and our experience. Please drive responsibly. Notice of risk.

Although this route is easy, it is safer to offroad in a group of at least 2 vehicles. New offroaders should learn how to use their 4×4  in offroad situations before attempting it on their own. You can pick your own trails if you are not comfortable getting through.

Along the route, you may spot wildlife such as gazelles, birds, camels, etc. Make sure you are keeping a safe distance between your vehicle and them so as to not disrupt them.

The Starting Point

Just a bit off the beaten path is a trail entering the Qudra Desert. We returned to the same point after visiting the Crescent Lake at the end of our drive.

Since the track to the dunes is worn and partly covered in sand, this is a good place to deflate your tires and mount your offroad flag for the drive.

Within 5 minutes of dirt road driving, you’ll reach the turning point for our route.

The Route

We had this route up on our phone as a guide, which helped us choose the easiest trails. You don’t have to worry about planning your way in and out as the route follows the tracks we took.

If you need you can zoom into Google Map’s satellite view to find the easiest ways in and out of the dunes. You just have to download the offline map of the Qudra and Lissaili trail to have a visual of the area incase you get lost.

Conclusion Of This Easy Offroading Route In The Al Qudra Dubai Desert

The finish point is near a road where you can air up your tires and move on out. If you don’t have an air compressor, you can drive slow (below 80 kph to protect your tires from wear and tear) to the nearest petrol station which is 10 kilometers away at Last Exit.

You can also have a picnic or setup camp like we did. There are some great camping spots across the road, if you’re lucky enough to beat the crowd. After we reached the end of our journey, we took the same route back to the starting point, continued down the dirt road and visited the crescent moon lake. It was definitely smaller than we expected and not as crowded around 8am. It was a nice, quaint spot for some hot tea and sandwiches to mark the end of our successful offroading trip.

Happy offroading!
